What people have shared with us

MH

Margaret Holroyd

British expat, Phuket Town

"After my husband passed, I was left with boxes of documents — some in English, some in Thai — and absolutely no idea where to start. The Linked Records service took something completely overwhelming and turned it into something I could actually understand and use. The team was patient with me throughout. I can't overstate how much lighter I felt when it was done."

Somchai Panyawong

Thai family, Kathu District

"We attended the workshop as a couple — my wife was more enthusiastic than I was initially, but I have to admit it was genuinely useful. The session gave us a clear picture of what an organised family archive should look like, and the guide they provided has been practical to work through at home. We are now considering the full archive service."

Anna Vorontsova

Russian national, Rawai

"We have records in three countries and a family that is spread between Russia, the UK, and Thailand. Trellisvale understood this from the first conversation and designed our archive to reflect it properly. Everything is linked to the right person and the right country. It has been two years now and the quarterly updates continue to work well."

James Lawson

Australian, Chalong

"What I appreciated most was the pace. There was no pressure to move through things quickly. We spent three sessions working through my father's belongings after he passed — and Preecha treated every photograph and every piece of correspondence with real care. The final index is something my children will be able to use long after I am gone."

Nipa Kittiporn

Thai, Mueang Phuket

"I came to the workshop with low expectations — I thought it would be quite general — but the session was actually specific and useful. They covered the kinds of documents that Thai families typically hold and how to link them to the correct family members. The only thing I would have liked is a longer session. I would go back."

British, Thalang

"Eleanor took the time to understand our household properly before recommending anything. We ended up on the Archive Companion and it has been a genuine relief. We have three children in different countries and now there is one clear place — properly organised — that will make sense to all of them when the time comes."

Detailed Stories

How particular families were helped

Three short accounts of the work, in enough detail to give a sense of what an engagement actually involves.

A recently widowed British resident, Phuket Town

Service: Linked Records Support · Duration: 4 sessions over 3 weeks

The situation

Following her husband's death, the client found herself with several boxes of mixed documents — some in English, some in Thai — with no clear way to understand what related to whom or what needed to be kept.

What we did

Over four home visits, we sorted and catalogued all documents, attached each one to the correct individual, and produced a bilingual index that could be shared with family members overseas.

The outcome

A complete, indexed set of records linked to four family members. The client could share relevant sections with solicitors in the UK without difficulty. She described the experience as removing a significant weight.

A Russian family with holdings across three countries

Service: Estate Archive Companion · Duration: Ongoing since 2023

The situation

A family with property and records in Russia, the UK, and Thailand. No consolidated record existed, and the family had grown concerned about what would happen to their materials if circumstances changed suddenly.

What we did

We created a full family archive from scratch, organising records from all three countries and linking each item to the correct family member. Quarterly sessions have kept the archive current since setup.

The outcome

A well-structured, up-to-date archive that both spouses can access and understand independently. The family has since added sections for their children's records and a keepsake catalogue.

A retired Thai couple preparing records for their adult children

Service: Workshop then Linked Records Support · Duration: Workshop + 2 sessions

The situation

The couple's three children lived abroad and had no clear understanding of the household's records. The parents wanted to organise things while both were well and able to explain the context.

What we did

They attended a workshop first, then engaged us for a Linked Records project. We worked through the household over two sessions, producing a Thai-English index with contextual notes for each item.

The outcome

An indexed set of records their children could navigate from abroad. The couple felt the notes they added alongside each item were the most valuable part — context that would otherwise have been lost.
